READ- I Was a Hero

I have been working really hard on this comic, and will soon be able to submit to Zuda. I have some color and touch ups to finish, but overall I am super happy with this one. So, I thought I would post a pin up I played around with. My final color scheme may be a little different, but this is pretty much the look of  ” I WAS A HERO”.

Thanks for checking it out, and hopefully you’ll get to read it some time soon!! Feel free to leave me some feedback, good or bad!

My new comic, ” I WAS A HERO”……

Here I go again. After my experience with my first submission to, D.C’s web comic competition site, I have learned a lot. “Pure Blood”, my first submission, was a little rushed and not really created in the correct format. Working on “I Was a Hero” is giving me great satisfaction, wide screen story telling is proving to be a game changer, something has clicked.

I have worked really hard on the script, and made a point of writing the whole story (in point form) first. It’s nice to know the story can carry 52 screens and more! On “Pure Blood” I had a basic outline, but didn’t delve deep enough to see it being exciting for that long.

As you will see from my sketches, it is of the Super Hero genre, and I feel right at home.  I admit I love Super Hero comics, I grew up on them, they taught me basic anatomy and kept me occupied during math class. I am not going to be revealing any of the plot, but it is definitely not what you think…that’s all I will say for now.

I hope you enjoy the very rough sketches, and yes I know the anatomy is a little off here and there, so try and look past it! I am really looking forward to some critiques of the character designs, good or bad!

Thanks for stopping by!

These are rough outlines, so the costume is not set in stone. I was going for a 50’s style corny look.

Here are some various panels from my rough page layouts. I picked the ones I fleshed out the most, I usually keep my layouts closer to basic figure drawings, but I tend to find myself trying to give them too much detail. All these panels are from different pages and are in no way in order, I don’t want to give everything away!!

Well that’s it for now. I’m working on pencils now, and will upload some more sketches when I can. I hope you liked it and I hope this one works out better than my first attempt!

Dude!! These rock!! I read your other comic….not bad, a little hard to follow, but the art was cool!!! But seeing this….I can’t wait to see the finished product. The name sounds familiar, better look in to that, but other than that, this looks really cool!
Please post again when you put more up!! I’m sure this will get accepted for sure, I hope the story is half as good as your art!
